Find an FFL

All GCX firearms purchases require transfer through a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL). Here’s how to find one near you.

Federal Requirement
Under federal law (18 U.S.C. § 922), all firearms sold across state lines must be transferred through a federally licensed dealer (FFL). The receiving FFL conducts the Form 4473 and NICS background check at the time of transfer. This is required on every GCX purchase.

How the Transfer Process Works

Find an FFL near you
Use the ATF FFL eZ Check tool or FFLData.com to locate a licensed dealer in your area who accepts transfers. Many dealers charge a small transfer fee ($25–$50 is typical).

Get their FFL license information
Contact the receiving FFL and get their license number and copy of their SOT/FFL. You’ll provide this to the selling dealer on GCX when completing your purchase.

Complete your GCX purchase
When purchasing through GCX, enter your receiving FFL’s information. The selling dealer ships the firearm directly to your local FFL (dealer to dealer).

Pick up from your local FFL
When your firearm arrives, your local FFL contacts you. You visit in person, complete ATF Form 4473, pass the NICS background check, and take possession of your firearm.

  • ATF FFL eZ Check — The ATF’s official tool to verify an FFL license number and find licensed dealers in your area.
  • FFLData.com — A searchable directory of licensed dealers with location, contact info, and license details. Updated regularly from ATF records.
  • GCX Partner Stores — Many stores that list inventory on GCX also accept transfers. When beta access opens, you’ll be able to find participating stores directly in your GCX dashboard.
